Ryan Houlihan
Principal Owner and CEO
Ryan Houlihan has over 21 years of business experience working in the lending, real estate, and construction industries. Ryan has utilized a dynamic approach to business in creating a unique and successful culture at Shamrock. His diverse background and years of entrepreneurship and executive leadership brought him to co-founding Shamrock Acquisitions in 2008. Ryan is a proven systems expert, leader and is the driving force behind Shamrock’s exponential growth.
Ryan has a unique and proven ability regarding leveraging strategic relationships and establishing collaborative foundations with industry leaders. Ryan has also directed the acquisition, entitlement, management, and leasing and/or disposition activities over hundreds of real estate properties, in excess of $250 million spanning several asset classes (retail, office, multifamily, residential, land).
As the CEO, Ryan oversees and manages day-to-day operations for Shamrock Acquisitions. Ryan has established systems and has maximized human capital to keep Shamrock poised for growth year over year. It is Ryan’s creative and highly organized project management skills that has enabled Shamrock to grow and expand across different asset classes.
Matthew B. Duffield
Principal Owner and President
With over 24 years of experience in the mortgage and real estate industry, Matthew Duffield is a proven prospector, investor, client advocate and a financial syndication expert. Prior to co-founding Shamrock Acquisitions, Matthew lead the country’s largest online lender (Quicken Loans) in sales, closed volume and revenue for over 12 consecutive years. In 2008, he left his day-to-day operations and started consulting investors and banks on the disposition of REO properties, and as the market opportunity arose cofounded Shamrock Acquisitions.
Under Matthews’s leadership, Shamrock has established itself as an expert in various acquisitions and financing strategies, ranging from the most basic to complex developments. Matthew has acquired and syndicated a wide range of successful projects across several asset classes. From time-to-time Matthew has acted as an intermediary for private and institutional investors. Matthew continues to lean heavily on his lending background to provide comprehensive underwriting analysis that can be delivered in a straightforward and productive manner.
Together with his business partner and team members, Matthew has helped grow Shamrock from buying its first house in Southfield, Michigan to owning and managing $200+ million in real estate assets in Michigan and California.
Lisa Semlow
Chief Operating Officer
Lisa began her career in the real estate investing industry more than 15 years ago. She was a team leader of distressed assets located across Michigan and worked closely with multiple financial institutions. With the change in economy, her residential property portfolio that included oversite of construction projects. Lisa brought her team management experience and vast construction knowledge to Shamrock Acquisitions in 2012. Her high level organizational skills and creative thinking has instrumentally assisted Shamrock in its growth, implementation of policy and procedures, online platforms, and employee benefit programs.
At Shamrock, Lisa manages the day-to-day operations of Shamrock headquarters and our multifamily subsidiaries. She is also responsible for thorough analysis of all acquisitions, commercial management, and employee relations.
Jason Hall
Director/Sales- Galway Bay Capital
Hall Graduated from Miami University with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and has worked in the mortgage/finance industry for over 25 years. His career initially started as a leading mortgage sales executive at Rocket Mortgage. Hall later advanced his career by becoming responsible for the entire sales organization at one of the countries largest title insurance companies. While there, the company radically grew by a factor of 50. The direct-to-consumer and business-to-business sales variants have established a skillset to develop long-lasting business relationships. Hall has a history of setting individual and team sales records and launching new enterprise-level revenue channels.
Alex Morgan
Director of Florida and California Acquisitions
Alexander Morgan is the Director of Acquisitions and specifically oversees the asset management for Shamrock’s Florida and California properties. Alex has 8 years of experience in the field of investment management and real estate financing. Prior to his position with Shamrock Acquisitions he worked as a marketing manager for a consumer finance company and has been instrumental in the organizational development of a handful of startup companies including a business networking organization. He has a passion for developing unique and innovative processes to create an efficient and logical system.
Alex resides in Lake Orion, MI with his wife Alexandra. He enjoys golfing in Northern Michigan and serving as a board member on the Michigan Melanoma Foundation.
Amber Irvine
Operations Manager/Investor Relations- Galway Bay Capital
Amber is the most recent addition to the team, recruited to help launch GBC Fund I. Irvine is a Michigan State graduate with an extensive background in the financial industry. Irvine worked for a large financial firm and was a liaison for multiple investors. Irvine will directly coordinate and assist GBC clients with due diligence material and third-party reports, including but not limited to Notes, Mortgage instruments, appraisals, insurance, financial documents, and applicable payoffs.
Maria Ulinski
Controller
Maria is a University of Michigan graduate and certified public accountant. She has over 26 years of experience as a controller in the real estate industry. Ulinski has comprehensive knowledge of tax strategies regarding real estate lending, development, and ongoing management.
